- The Northern Neck of Virginia Historical Society (NNVHS). The mission of the NNVHS is to collect, preserve, and disseminate information and material relating to the history of the Counties of Northumberland, Lancaster, Westmoreland, Stafford, Richmond, and King George.
- Westmoreland County Museum. The oldest museum in the Northern Neck was established to display Charles Willson Peale's 1768 portrait of William Pitt, the British Parliamentarian behind the repeal of the Stamp Act. Exhibits and programs present and interpret Westmoreland County history from pre-colonial times to today.
- King George County Historical Society Museum and Research Center. The King George County Historical Society believes that our local heritage should be a source of great pride. It is this proud past that the historical society preserves. Founded in 1987 to collect, preserve, and disseminate information relating to the history of King George County.
- Richmond County Museum. Preserves and tells the story of Richmond County from prehistoric to present. Exhibits include Rappahannock Indians of Richmond County and Declaration of Independence signer Francis Lightfoot Lee.
